...was thinking this morning how much we complicate our lives with "stuff"...chasing after wealth, which sucks all of our time, energy and sanity just to accumulate more material possessions...
as Solomon, once the wisest man on earth said..."all is vanity"...
...we work harder, put in more hours, to make more money, to buy more stuff we don't need...buy bigger houses, that come with bigger house payments...we then start racking up credit card debt because with the bigger house payment comes less free cash...and the cycle continues...work harder, put in more hours, to make more money, to pay for the stuff we didn't need in the first place...bigger house to clean...less time for the kids...
...no time for relaxation...no time for the things that make life meaningful...dinners together as a family...evening walks...drives in the country...sitting out on the porch connecting with neighbors...going to concerts or plays because there is no money left at the end of the month...
...thinking it's time to simplify and unclutter...time to get back to what's really important...do we have the guts to give up the frivolous lifestyles we've created in our pursuit of what we think will make us happy? think it's time to put myself to the test...
